Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Wickford, you must be at least 21 years old, though some vehicle types may have different age restrictions, especially for drivers under 25 who may incur extra fees. A valid full driving license, appropriate for the vehicle category, must be held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You are required to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or in person at our Wickford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure transactions with trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or any hazardous driving. Transporting dangerous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, vehicles must not be used for purposes for which they are not intended, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Travel outside the designated geographical areas requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Wickford will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental fee paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not affect liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
